Tile Installation Guide

1. Prepare the Surface

• Ensure the subfloor or wall is clean, dry, and level.

• Remove any dust, paint, oil, or debris to help the adhesive bond properly.

• If necessary, apply a primer to improve adhesion.

2. Plan Your Layout

• Measure the area and mark guidelines using a chalk line to ensure a straight layout.

• Dry-lay a few tiles without adhesive to visualize the pattern and check for even spacing.

• Start from the center of the room or a focal point for a balanced look.

3. Mix and Apply Tile Adhesive

• Use a high-quality thinset mortar suitable for porcelain tiles.

• Apply adhesive with a notched trowel in small sections to prevent it from drying too quickly.

• Maintain an even layer for a level surface.

4. Lay the Tiles

• Press tiles firmly into the adhesive, using tile spacers between each tile to maintain consistent grout lines.

• Tap gently with a rubber mallet to ensure full contact and eliminate air pockets.

5. Cut Tiles for Edges and Corners

• Use a wet saw or tile cutter to cut tiles as needed to fit around walls, corners, or fixtures.

• Always measure twice to ensure accurate cuts and reduce waste.

6. Allow to Set

• Let the adhesive cure for at least 24 hours before walking on the tiles or applying grout.

7. Apply Grout

• Remove spacers and apply grout using a rubber float, pressing it into the joints.

• Wipe off excess grout with a damp sponge, cleaning the tile surface thoroughly.

• Allow the grout to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

8. Final Cleaning & Sealing

• Once the grout is fully dry, clean the tiles with a soft cloth or sponge.

• Apply a grout sealer if recommended, especially in wet areas, to prevent stains and moisture.
